Sometimes it’s the simplest moments that bring us to tears about how quickly our kids grow up — a tiny baby sock, an empty crib, a child’s bedroom.

And the Michael Bublé video for his song “Forever Now” has parents everywhere sobbing.

The music video was published on YouTube March 1, but as droves of parents send their kids back to school or off to college, it has resurfaced all over social media.

The video opens to an empty bedroom. Slowly, it fills with moving boxes, then a crib, a chair, a dresser — a beautiful little nursery.

Then the lyrics begin:

“I just met you, seems like yesterday. You opened up your eyes and I recognized your face. You know that you’re the one that we’ve been waiting for; we’re going to keep you safe.”

OK, we’re already crying.

“First time I held you in my arms, I knew I’d love you all the way.”

WAHHHHHHH.

As the video continues, the bedroom changes: the crib leaves for a big kid bed, toys appear and disappear, a desk arrives for homework, a laundry basket for chores. Then toward the end of the video, the moving boxes return and the room is empty once again.

“I love you forever now.”

The final scene is another nursery, decked out in pink.

We’re not sure what that means, but we can hardly see it through our watery eyes at this point.

Thanks for the ugly cry, Michael Bublé.
