Man Films Wife Giving Birth in Car — Instead of Pulling Over!

A couple from McKinney, Texas had one very special delivery — and they shared it on Instagram. In the clip, which was posted on September 6 and has since gone viral, Alexis Swinney gave birth in a car while her husband Domonique, who was behind the wheel, filmed the whole thing.

The couple — they are now the proud parents of five — explained on the Tuesday, September 11, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! that they live “12 to 15 minutes” away from the hospital. However, their newest family member, daughter Corbyn Hope, ended up making her debut as the four eldest children watched from the backseat of the vehicle.

“We just delivered a baby in the car,” Domonique can be heard saying in the Instagram video. “I can’t believe that just happened.”

During their Tuesday TV appearance, Alexis revealed that it was her idea for Domonique to take out his phone. “Ya’ll can blame me,” she said. “I asked him, ‘In case she’s born in the car, take a video.’”

At the end of the segment, the pair were gifted a brand new Chrysler Pacifica. Joked Kimmel: “Go in there, have a couple more kids!”

Alexis wouldn’t change a thing about Corbyn’s birth story. “There was something beyond special, about getting to deliver my own baby,” she captioned her September 6 post. “No doctors or nurses, no lights, or busy people, no one interrupting a moment that should be the most special moments for families as they bring life into the world.”

She continued: “The pain was there, but the joy and peace that followed in those minutes we got to spend alone with our sweet girl was more rewarding than anything I could have asked for.”
