Malin Akerman Struggled With Mom Guilt When She Was Single

Malin Akerman struggled with mom guilt before her fiancé, Jack Donnelly, came along.

“I’ve got a wonderful partner now, and that eases it,” Akerman, 40, told Us Weekly at the Dame Clothing launch party in Beverly Hills, on Wednesday, November 7. “I feel OK leaving [my son, Sebastian, 5,] with my partner instead of leaving him with the babysitter or the nanny.”

The Billions actress and Sebastian’s father, Roberto Zincone, split in 2013 after six years of marriage. At the time, Sebastian was seven months old. Akerman and Donnelly, 32, announced their engagement in October 2017.

“We definitely have wedding plans,” Akerman told Us. “We’re very excited!” (Last month, the former model divulged to Us that they have a venue booked!)

Meanwhile, the couple’s holiday plans are underway as well.

“We felt it would be nice to host Christmas this year,” the Sweden native revealed. “It’s going to be a potluck and my mom, since she’ll be here, she’ll be making Swedish meatballs and she also makes chocolate balls, which are incredibly delicious.”

Though expanding the family is not out of the question, it seems Sebastian is content being an only child. “He wants a dog, he wants a cat, he wants five rabbits,” Akerman laughed. “I think he’s just really happy to have Jack in our lives because as boys they do stuff that I don’t do with him.”

Even though parenting is easier with the British actor, the Trophy Wife alum has her moments. “I mean it’s just everything from forgetting stuff for school or completely blanking on something that needs to happen to handling situations poorly because I’m under stress,” she told Us. “I think everybody has their mommy moments.”
