Kristen Bell Can't Keep a Straight Face as Her Daughter Explains the Middle Finger to Dax Shepard

Why, Kristen Bell? Why must you make me love you so? I have no choice but to stan. The only question remaining: When will you materialize in my kitchen and eat leftover pasta and drink white wine with ice cubes out of an old sippy cup and swap stories with me about the two-daughter life?

This week Bell posted a video of herself trying desperately to keep a straight face as one of her two daughters with husband Dax Shepard — Delta or Lincoln — earnestly discusses a naughty boy who uses the f-word and his middle finger with abandon at school. We are all Kristen Bell trying to keep our cool — or we have been. Here’s part of the adorable video, reposted on a fan account site:

Bell tried valiantly to keep a good mom game face as Shepard handled the convo with their daughter.

The Good Place and Frozen II actor captioned the video, “I have been waiting for this conversation since the day I got pregnant. The one where we talk about what fingers mean what when u hold em up. I [am] fidgeting because I am trying so hard not to laugh. It’s excruciating. @daxshepard you handled this brilliantly.”

You can hear their daughter say, “He says this is ‘fuck,’” while presumably waving her middle finger in the air to demonstrate. “He says that every time in school… And he laughs at everything I do.”

“He does?” Shepard replies. “He’s naughty.”

“The teacher says that’s a bad word,” their aggrieved daughter affirms.

In another part of the video Shepard continues:

“Yeah, that’s not a nice word. You know, that’s a naughty finger and I never see you do that,” Shepard continues. “It makes me so proud that you know that, yet you don’t do it. Well, you did it a couple of time when you were young before you knew it was a naughty word. One time you couldn’t get a shirt on in your bedroom and your let it fly. Then later that day, you were in the swimming pool and you let one fly. But since then you’ve really curbed it.”

OMG. These two are the best parents ever. And if you had any doubt, check out this video from her Instagram page:

This isn’t the first time Bell has struggled to keep a straight face. If you haven’t seen her during her daughter’s rendition of Lizzo’s “Good As Hell,” are you even really living?
