Kourtney Kardashian's Kids Aren't As Excited About 'Kravis' As Everyone Else Seems to Be

It seems like we know all there is to know about the details of Travis Barker’s extravagant proposal to Kourtney Kardashian — from the lavish oceanside spread of roses and candles to the fact that he visited Kourtney’s father’s grave to ask permission beforehand.

But in the latest episode of The Kardashians, we see that not everybody is as thrilled with “Kravis,” or at least not the news of the proposal — namely Kourtney’s kids: Mason, 12, Penelope, 9, and Reign, 7. And especially not Penelope.

As we see in the episode, Kourtney’s family was on hand to help the surprise proposal go off without a hitch. But Kris had opted not to invite Kourtney’s kiddos, as she felt they weren’t old enough to really understand the significance (and besides that, she didn’t want to have to hide the proposal from Kourtney’s ex and father of her children, Scott Disick).

Understandably, Kourtney wanted her kids to find out from her, not online — so she FaceTimed them after the big event.

Her sons weren’t impressed; Mason refused to answer the phone, and 7-year-old Reign proclaimed the life-changing news “not exciting.” It was Penelope, though, who reacted with the most emotion … and likely not the emotion Kourtney was expecting.

“Hang up!” Penelope demanded, but only after bursting into tears.

In a confessional later in the episode, Kourtney said that she wished her kids had been there: “I think it would have made them feel more included in the decision, kind of, and like part of the surprise. I know that my mom made that decision and it probably wasn’t her best,” she admitted. She also reflected on Penelope’s reaction, noting that her daughter “took it hard.”

“I think it’s a big change for her. And even though she loves Travis, I think she doesn’t know what that means. You know, does that mean taking me away?”

Blending families is never an easy feat – and we can only imagine that it’s even harder when the families you’re blending are constantly in the public eye. It isn’t impossible to do it harmoniously, though (as Jennifer Garner recently hanging out with J-Lo’s daughter proves!), and we hope that with time, Penelope is as on-board with Kravis as the rest of the world.
