North always puts her best foot forward — just ask her little sister Chicago.
The oldest child of Kanye and Kim Kardashian West, 5½, gave her 15-month-old sibling a lift on Sunday while the family attended the first birthday party of Khloé Kardashian‘s daughter True. North was wearing an unconventional pair of shoes for the task: Her mom’s high heels.
Dressed to match her little sister in an orange feathered ensemble, North seemed unwilling at first to put Chi down until her mom could be heard insisting on it in a video she shared to her Instagram Story on Monday.
“How do you do this in heels? Okay, okay, put your sister down. No no no, I said just … ” said Kim, 38, as North finally obliged and placed Chi on the ground next to her.
“Northie, you gotta change into the shoes,” added the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star.

Complete with butterfly decorations, cotton-candy vendors, whimsical balloons and more, True’s party was a gigantic outdoor celebration with Kim, Kylie Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian and Khadijah Haqq in attendance. (Khloé’s sister Kendall Jenner was spotted at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California.)
“We did not want presents for Miss True. We asked that everybody bring a gift for the Children’s Hospital of L.A.,” the birthday girl’s mom, 34, revealed on her Instagram story, showing off a sign that addressed their charitable request.
Other fun details at the magical bash included a dreamy dessert table, toddler-friendly play equipment and “unicorns” with colorful horns and pink manes that younger guests could ride around the event.
North could be seen wearing her mom’s heels on Kim’s Instagram story ahead of the event, which the reality star narrated, “Peep North’s shoes. She would not walk out of the house without my shoes.”
In a recent interview for Vogue‘s “73 Questions” series with West, 41, and their three children — Chicago, North and Saint, 3 — Kim talked about all things parenthood and how they’re preparing to welcome their fourth baby soon.
“You just have to wing it,” she answered when asked the secret to successful child rearing. “My sisters and I are in a group chat, always getting parenting advice.”
With her new baby boy due to arrive this spring, the KKW Beauty founder has had a lot of time not only to impart lessons on her children but to learn from them in being their mother.
“My kids have taught me how to be patient and just what’s important in life. … And Fortnite,” she joked — but in all seriousness, “I want my kids to be kind and to treat everybody the same way.”
