Kim Kardashian has been vacationing in Japan with her 10-year-old daughter North West, and for some reason, it’s making people really upset. Her latest photos sparked tons of comments criticizing her for one thing in particular, and it’s really bizarre.

“😁♾️,” the SKIMS founder captioned a post on Instagram yesterday. She also shared two nearly-identical mirror selfies of her and her eldest daughter, who she shares with ex Kanye West. Kardashian wears white jeans and a tan crop top as she snaps the selfie, and North is wearing a black-and-red Japanese robe and smiling for the camera.

It’s just a sweet moment between mother and daughter that’s representative of their fun trip, but people filled the comment section with critiques.

“I’m trying to figure out why you and her dad always take her out but not all 4 kids? Poor other babies!” one person wrote.
Another said, “Saint Chi and Psalm don’t exist.” They don’t exist because they didn’t get to go on one trip? Give us a break …
Someone else went way too far, claiming that Kardashian was a bad mom for going on a trip without her other kids. “@kimkardashian KIM KARDASHIAN: WORST MOTHER AWARD For ABANDONING and NEGLECTING her KIDS CONSTANTLY, she has 4 kids, not one. #WorstMom.”
Sorry-not-sorry: not taking your kids on one international trip doesn’t make you eligible for the Worst Mother Award. Would a dad ever get treated this way? What about someone who went on a business trip and didn’t bring their kids? It’s so bizarre that people are getting mad about the fact that she is spending one on one time with her daughter.

In Defense of One on One Time

Especially when you have a busy life and four kids to love, like Kardashian does. Not to mention, she does a great job spreading herself out with her kids. She just got back from a vacation with her eldest son Saint, where they went to see Lionel Messi play soccer. So the hate is just totally uncalled for (not that hate is ever called for!).
Many people defended her. “She’s so cute 😍 love Northie. I also love how you’re spending one on one time with her!” one person wrote.

No Stranger to Backlash

In it, North is showing off her Rapunzel-like pink-and-black braids that are so long they drag the ground. “Look at these braids!” Kardashian says in the video, clearly having fun with the silly hairdo.
But people were mad, commenting things like, “For what though like it’s literally dragging on the ground” and “You just let her do anything. She’s too young for all that.”
Having fun with your kids is apparently not allowed to these people. Luckily Kardashian doesn’t seem to be letting the hate get to her, and is simply enjoying her time with her child, as she should! Besides, we’re sure Saint, Chicago, and Psalm have plenty to do — and plenty of people to take care of them — back at home!
