John Mayer, Real Housewives Stars and Other Celebs Send Andy Cohen Congratulations on New Baby

Andy Cohen‘s famous friends had nothing but love for the new dad on Monday.

Minutes after the 50-year-old Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host announced that he had welcomed his first child — son Benjamin Allen, born via surrogate — celebrities like John Mayer, Pink, Anna Faris, Sarah Paulson, Gabrielle Union, Jenna Fisher, Leslie Grossman, Billy Eichner, Jerry O’Connell, the Backstreet Boys, and more flooded social media with their best wishes.

Many commented directly on the black and white Instagram photo that Cohen had originally posted when he shared the news late Monday evening, snapped as he held his son on his bare chest. Their loving words were captured by the popular Instagram account Comments by Celebs.

“Congrats!!!” said Fisher. “You will never be the same! in the best way imaginable!”

“Sending you all the love in the world,” wrote Paulson. “That’s one lucky baby.”

“Awwwwww so cute!!!!! Congrats!!!” wrote Faris, joking, “Are you ready for breastfeeding? It’s harder than it looks.”

Mayer, who was one of Cohen’s surprise guests at his Bravo baby shower in Los Angeles back in January, shared a photo of the baby moccasins he bought Cohen’s son.

“Congratulations Andy,” he simply captioned the shot.

It’s the second gift Mayer has given baby Benjamin. During a surprise appearance on WWHL last month, the musician — who initially bonded with Cohen over a shared love of the Grateful Dead — presented his close friend with a guitar, which he personalized during the show.

“John wrote, ‘I have never met you yet I already love you,’ ” Cohen revealed. “So sweet. What are you, a songwriter or something?”

“Still got it,” Mayer quipped back.

Benjamin Allen is a special name for Cohen, as it comes from his grandfather, Ben Allen, on his mother’s side.

“I’m in love,” Cohen wrote on Instagram. “And speechless. And eternally grateful to an incredible surrogate. And I’m a dad. Wow.”

The baby was born at 6:35 p.m. PT on Monday, Feb. 4 — and weighed in at 9 lbs., 2 ounces, and measured 20 inches long.

Cohen announced that he was expecting his first child via surrogate on the Dec. 20 episode of WWHL, while surrounded by OG Real Housewives franchise cast members.

“Tonight, I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, a fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science — if all goes according to plan, in about six weeks time I’m going to become a father,” he shared.

“Thanks to a wonderful surrogate who is carrying my future,” he continued. “Family means everything to me and having one of my own is something that I have wanted in my heart for my entire life. And though it’s taken me longer than most to get there, I cannot wait for what I envision will be the most rewarding chapter yet.”

A few days later, during CNN’s live New Year’s Eve show, Cohen revealed that he would be welcoming a son. “It’s a boy and I got to tell you something, I cannot wait to meet this boy,” he told co-host, Anderson Cooper.

“When I was growing up and when we were growing up … I just never thought it would be possible, as a gay man, to grow up and have a family,” shared the proud then-papa-to-be.

On Jan. 26, Cohen had an extravagant baby shower in Beverly Hills, California. He fittingly wore a light blue suit for the occasion.

The exciting bash took place at The Palm Beverly Hills, where Cohen’s BFF (and Radio Andy personality) Bruce Bozzi, Jr. serves as executive vice president. Guests sat at a long singular dinner table with gold flatware, long-stem candles and white and blue flowers as bundles of white balloons hung from the ceiling.

A second celebration days later saw Cohen showered with love on the east coast by celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker, Kelly Ripa and more.

“I had a heart-boner for days after this crew threw me an equally epic affair on the East Coast. I feel loved & it’s all going to the ?. Thank you [Bruce Bozzi] [Kelly Ripa] [Sarah Jessica Parker] [Jackie Greenber]” Cohen captioned a cute picture.
