Baby No. 3 was meant to be! Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson were “surprised but overjoyed” upon learning they were expecting their third child, an insider exclusively tells Us Weekly. Adds a source close to the pregnant singer: “Jessica and Eric are over the moon. They are so happy and very excited.”
Just as giddy about the baby news is the couple’s kids Maxwell, 6, and Ace, 5. “It’s fun because Ace and Maxwell are at an age where they understand what it happening,” the source tells Us. “They are really cute waiting for their baby sister.”
The fashion designer shared her pregnancy news on Tuesday, September 18, with help from Maxwell and Ace. In the Instagram post, the siblings admire dozens of pink balloons. “This little baby girl will make us a family of five,” Simpson captioned the snap. “We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life.” Hours later, she followed up with one of her growing bump.
When the newest member of the Johnson crew arrives, Simpson and Maxwell can split lullaby duty. “She has a great voice,” the Dukes of Hazzard actress told Us in May. The proud mom added she would “absolutely” support the little girl if she chooses a singing career. “She’s pretty shy. Mom’s shy too,” Simpson explained. “So you never know.”
Simpson and former NFL player Johnson tied the knot in July 2014. Maxwell was the flower girl and Ace the ring bearer!
