Jerry O’Connell Shares Warning After ‘Super Scary’ Christmas Lights Mishap

Next time he’ll call a professional! Jerry O’Connell wanted to make Christmas extra special for his wife, Rebecca Romijn, and their 9-year-old twin daughters, Dolly and Charlie — but his efforts nearly landed him in the hospital.

“I want to say this as a warning to readers: I did my own lights this year and I almost fell off my roof twice,” the Billions actor told Us Weekly at WeHoliday Los Angeles on Sunday, December 16. “Please be careful out there putting up and removing lights. I should’ve gotten a professional to do it. Super scary.”

Luckily, the Crossing Jordan alum walked away unscathed and is looking forward to spending December 25 with his three favorite ladies. “I’ve pretty much finished all my shopping,” O’Connell told Us. “I endured the mall. It’s pretty crazy there.” The former child star added that he takes Dolly and Charlie on separate trips so that they can buy presents for each other!”

O’Connell hopes the twins still believe in Santa Claus — but he isn’t sure. “On paper we’re all believers,” he said. “They’re in fourth grade so kids start talking at this time.”

Though model Romijn, 46, was in Canada filming on Sunday, the pair, who have been married 11 years, will catch up during one of their regular date nights.

“We’ve got a couple of really good sitters in our neighborhood,” O’Connell told Us. “We pay them very well especially during holiday season. My wife and I sneak out and go grab a dinner.”
