Jenny Mollen Dishes on the Crazy NYC Kindergarten Admissions Process

Jenny Mollen and Jason Biggs are dealing with the nightmare that is the New York kindergarten admissions process. The 39-year-old and her husband, 40, have been on a “million” interviews in hopes of landing their son, Sid, 4, at a private school.

“It just really feels like they’re putting you through the hoops, and you can’t help but get super competitive about it,” Mollen told Us Weekly at DreamWorks Trolls the Experience in NYC earlier this month. “I remember the last interview, the kid does their interview alone and then the parents come in and do a one-on-one and afterwards we were like, ‘We nailed that one! They want us!’”

Getting Sid into school isn’t the only thing the couple is dealing with at the moment. Mollen and the American Pie actor are hosting Thanksgiving at their apartment but they are lacking in important furniture. “We had to send [our chairs] back because there was some issue with the stuffing,” the I Like You Just the Way I Am author told Us. “I don’t know. So everyone will be on the floor this year.”

But if Biggs is in the kitchen, guests can expect to feast on five-star cuisine. “Jason is an amazing cook,” the Angel alum gushed. “He might cook.”

The couple have much to be thankful for this year. Biggs celebrated one year of sobriety in October, a milestone he shared on Instagram.

“I am so proud of him,” Mollen told Us. “It’s one of those things where it really was all him. I’m psyched for him.”

Mollen noted that the former Orange is the New Black star went public with his battle because he wanted to help people.

The couple, who tied the knot in April 2008, are also parents of 13-month-old son Lazlo.
