Jennifer Garner and Daughter Rescued After Kayak Trip Goes Awry

Jennifer Garner and daughter Violet had quite the äventyr in Sweden. The actress, 46, and her 12-year-old had to be rescued from a shipping lane in Stockholm after getting lost on a kayak trip.

“On a pre-middle-school sneak away with my eldest,” Garner wrote on Monday, August 6, alongside an Instagram photo of the mother and daughter silhouetted against a sunset.

“Did I get us lost in a kayak? Yes. Did we paddle as hard as we could for 100 hours and end up in a shipping lane? I’m afraid so. ? Did we have to be rescued? Yup.”

The Peppermint actress added the hashtags “#thesunsetwasabigupside #shenevercomplained #thankyoumattias #welovedyousweden ??.”

The outdoor misadventure is practically a teaser for Garner’s upcoming HBO comedy, Camping, which chronicles a “weekend of tested marriages and woman-on-woman crime” in the wilderness. Per HBO, the Golden Globe winner will play “a controlling L.A. mom who is far less cheerful than her Lululemons imply.”

While TV viewers wait for Camping to premiere, Garner is providing comedic relief for all three of her kids, including 9-year-old Seraphina and 6-year-old Samuel. “They’re at the age where they just make fun of me all the time,” she told Us Weekly and other reporters on June 25, while promoting her the new show at the summer 2018 TCAs in Los Angeles.

In July, a source told Us that the Alias alum has been better than ever after she and ex Ben Affleck finalized their divorce in April 2017. “She’s very happy and in a good place,” the insider said. “You rarely see her without a smile on her face.”
