Following Jana Kramer’s news that she and her fiancé, former Scottish soccer player Allan Russell, are expecting a baby later this year, the soon-to-be mom of three revealed the sex of the little one — as well as the low-key way she and Russell found out.

During Monday’s episode of her podcast, Whine Down, Kramer opened up about the early stages of her pregnancy. The One Tree Hill alum recalled, “We did the early blood work to check all the stuff and to check the gender, and then I had a scan. … They saw the part, so we are having … a boy!” Kramer added, “I was convinced it was a girl. … Like a thousand, million, trillion percent sure it was a girl.” But surprise, it’s a baby boy for the expecting mama.
Explaining exactly how she and the soccer star sat down to find out the sex, the country singer shared, “I got the paperwork and Allan was in England with his kids.” While she debated opening the sealed envelope herself before her fiancé came home, the country singer ultimately waited to find out the sex of the baby until Russell was back in the States.
“He comes back, and we open it together,” Kramer recalled. “On the bottom, it said ‘Boy,’ and I was shocked, so shocked. And then we told the kids, we did the gender reveal for them. … I ordered these confetti things from Amazon because I just wanted to have a little celebration for the kids, a little party,” she said.
The “Why You Gotta” singer also shared that her due date, coincidentally enough, is on her 40th birthday. However, the couple decided to schedule a C-section to welcome their son the week before. Kramer also revealed she and Russell are “trying on” a name, but they aren’t totally certain it’s the one.

She added that Jolie is “so excited now cause she wants to boss around the boys.” Big sister vibes for sure!

Making the Announcement

Alongside a carousel of family photos and an excited selfie with the positive pregnancy test, Kramer wrote, “We’ve been keeping another secret from you guys (I promise this is the last Announcement … at least for a little while 🤣) but I’m pregnant!!!! Beyond blessed and grateful for this baby to be a part of our story.”
The country singer and soccer star got engaged in May 2023, which they also announced on Instagram with a series of engagement photos.
