Jana Kramer Says She Won't Hire an Attractive Nanny After Husband Mike Caussin's Cheating Scandal

Jana Kramer may have forgiven Mike Caussin for his past infidelity, but that doesn’t mean she’ll be hiring a good looking nanny anytime soon.

The country star and mom of two revealed on Monday’s episode of her podcast “Whine Down with Jana Kramer” that she was currently searching for a nanny on Care.com after the one that she and her husband, 32, were using had recently quit.

While scrolling through the site, however, Kramer, 35, admitted that there were many female nannies who she immediately disregarded due to their attractive and/or risqué appearance in their photos.

“I just don’t understand some of these girls that post pictures on Care.com because I’m like, ‘Don’t you know the female is hiring?’” she explained. “I’m laughing at some of these pictures!”

“This one photo was like, ‘Hi, I’m 22 years old and I have perky boobs,’” the One Tree Hill alum continued. “Like, don’t post the perky boob photo. You’re not gonna be hired. I’m not hiring you.”

Kramer argued that she was particularly confused by the sexy shots because she believed the majority of people looking to hire nannies were female.

“The wives are hiring! I don’t see a guy going on Care.com and going through the nannies,” she said, before clarifying, “Maybe they do — and that’s awesome — but I personally am doing it.”

“And I’m not saying post an ugly photo, I’m just saying… you should dress for the part,” Kramer continued. “So, to the girls out there that are on Care.com, I wouldn’t put your Instagram [profile picture]… because I’m like, no, I’m not gonna hire you, sorry.”

Part of the reason Kramer may have felt so strongly about the topic could be due to the fact that Caussin was repeatedly unfaithful in 2016, seven months after their daughter, Jolie Rae, now 3, was born.

He eventually entered a rehabilitation facility for sex addiction and will celebrate three years of sobriety over the summer.

Though the experience was traumatic for Kramer at the time, the country singer claimed on the podcast that Caussin’s past infidelity had nothing to do with her decision about the nanny.

“Not that I don’t trust my husband… I just think it’s not smart,” Kramer explained. “I mean, you look at some of these nannies, and I’m like, ‘Well, you kinda asked for it, she’s kinda hot.’ You know what I mean? You’re in close quarters.”

Kramer even mentioned Ben Affleck and Gavin Rossdale — both of whom were previously accused of having affairs with their former nannies before their divorces from Jennifer Garner and Gwen Stefani, respectively. (Garner has since denied those claims, while Rossdale has yet to comment.)

“Not saying that Ben Affleck was wrong, but you look at the nanny and I’m like, ‘Well, she’s really cute.’ You’re playing with fire,” Kramer said. “I feel like some of these girls — maybe some of those nannies like Ben Affleck’s and the Gavin Rossdale’s nannies — they put off more of a sexier vibe.”

In a final note, the mom of two explained that she preferred the “older” women in their 40s or 50s because of their experience and lack of interest on Instagram.

“This is their job, I lean towards that,” she said, before joking, “I’m going for more [of an] Alice from The Brady Bunch.”

Since the cheating scandal went public in 2016, Kramer and Caussin have openly been rebuilding their relationship.

The couple renewed their vows in December 2017 and in November 2018, Kramer and Caussin welcomed their second child together, a son named Jace Joseph, now 4 months.

In February, after joking about Caussin’s infidelity on her podcast, Kramer issued an apology on Instagram to the former NFL player and claimed she would stop bringing up his affairs because “it is in the past and that’s where it needs to stay.”

“Truth is, the past year Mike has shown up in every way I could have hoped for,” she said of her husband. “He’s an incredible father, and has been working his ass off for our family, me, and most importantly himself so I’m sorry Mike and I love you and so thankful for you and our family and all your hard work!”

Despite her promise, the star has continued to speak to the bump in their relationship — first with her new single “Beautiful Lies” which details how she felt during her break with Caussin, and recently about the exact moment she learned her husband had been unfaithful.

While speaking to PEOPLE ahead of her new song’s release, Kramer revealed how the things she says about her marriage with Caussin can sometimes be taken differently than she intends.

“It’s hard because it definitely gets to me because I’m like, ‘Man, maybe I shouldn’t be so open or maybe I shouldn’t joke around so much because it seems to kind of bite me in the butt sometimes,’” she said. “But, I have to remember that for every one negative comment there’s 50 positive. I need to start focusing more on the positive because I think it’s so easy to harp on the negative, especially in today’s world.”
