“We pretty much try ANYTHING until it works while traveling! From coloring dinosaurs or drawing our family to iPads and walking up and down the airplane aisles. We’ll play ‘I Spy’ or snack – A LOT – or meet new people who keep us entertained. We do it all! Also, trying to save nap time until we hit the road is key. And sometimes, even after all that, they’re still not entertained! Welcome to parenting. At that point, you just hope for the best and count all the small victories as a win!”
Lauren Akins and her husband Thomas Rhett are parents to daughters Willa Gray, 2, and Ada James, 15 months. Lauren is raising money and awareness for the Love One foundation, most recently raising more than $300,000 for her birthday to support its mission of supporting children in Uganda, Willa’s birth country.
“Fortunately, our kids have always been well behaved on an airplane. Gia and Dominic love watching movies and and playing games on their iPad. My wife also stocks up on activities from the $1 section at Target – and, we pack a bag of candy for emergencies!”
Mario Lopez and his wife Courtney Mazza Lopez are parents to Gia, 8, and Dominic, 5. He is the host of Extra, is currently partnering with Undeniably Dairy and this year won the title of Father of the Year from the National Father’s Day Council.
“I’m lucky that I’m a little bit past the toddler fidgety stage right now, but long flights are still a challenge for a boy with tons of energy. He packs a book-bag with toys, and iPad and headphones for long travel days and that keeps him pretty entertained.”
Lais Ribeiro is mom to Alexandre, 10. She is a model and Victoria’s Secret Angel.
“My secret weapon is over-packing! This way, I am literally prepared for anything when I travel and never stuck if something unplanned happens. We just came back from Australia with Izzy and loved using an inflatable seat extender to make her an in-flight bed!”
