How Soleil Moon Frye Practices Self-Love as a Mother of 4

Taking care of herself! With four kids and a successful career, Soleil Moon Frye has a lot on her plate — which is why the Punky Brewster alum finds self-love so important.

“So often we forget about just taking time for ourselves,” the actress, 42, told Us Weekly exclusively at the 18th annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball earlier this week. “So that has been kind of a big thing for me this year, having that one-on-one time where I can go have dinner with a friend and catch up, or a hike, things like that. Little things for [myself].”

She added: “It’s all about that self-love. I think as we get older, it’s sometimes hard to remember to take that time because it’s all about the kids, picking them up, and dropping them off, making sure that they do their homework, making sure they’re fed.”

That’s why Frye, who shares Poet, 13, Jagger, 11, Lyric, 5, and Story, 3, with her husband, Jason Goldberg, carves out alone time, even if that means locking the door and taking a shower by herself.

In August 2018, the California native revealed that her friend Demi Moore has helped deliver every baby in her brood. “She’s been in all my birth rooms,” Fyre told Us exclusively at the time. “She’s like a doctor. She’s like, ‘Alright. I’m here. Step back everyone.’”

The Sabrina the Teenage Witch actress went on to say that when she was in labor with her youngest, her obstetrician wasn’t in the room at first. “Demi gets the phone with the doctor, she’s like, ‘If you’re not gonna do it, I’m gonna do it,’” Frye recalled. “She was ready. But then [the doctor] walked in and within five minutes, the baby popped out. He literally, like, shot out.”

The Chrysalis Butterfly Ball honors remarkable men and women within the film, television, fashion and music industries who strive to achieve creative excellence, raising over $16.5 million since 2002 to help individuals out of poverty and homelessness. This year, over 700 guests gathered for an evening benefitting Chrysalis’ efforts.
