All the moms out there, we see how much you’re doing in these difficult times, and how much you do in “normal” times. So does fellow mom Hilary Duff, which is why she and Kohl’s have launched a special contest for Mother’s Day this year. And if you have any kids at home who say they’re bored, you should totally get them to nominate you for it.
“So, Mother’s Day is coming up, and with the unfortunate circumstances going on right now, this seems like the most important year to make mom feel appreciated for what she does,” Duff said on her Instagram Stories on Monday. “I’m seeing the most amazing things on the internet of how moms are entertaining children right now while we are all stuck inside. We are being teachers, and playmates, and cleaning the house nonstop, and chefs, and trying to take care of multiple children, and doing the best we can through this.”
Kohl’s is sponsoring this Amazing Moms Contest, giving 10 grand-prize winners a gift bundle worth more than $500. To nominate a mom (or “mom figure”), visit KohlsAmazingMomsContest.com, and submit an essay of 300 words or less about why she’s amazing. Both the contest “submitter” and the nominee need to be 18 years or older, and you can’t nominate yourself. Even if we think this is a great homeschool assignment for your kids, you’re going to need a partner to help them submit it. Or, you could actually nominate your own mother/mother figure or a fellow mom that you think is effing awesome at what she’s doing. If we don’t see some health-care workers winning these prizes, there is truly something wrong with this world.
