Haylie Duff, Lisa Vanderpump, More Share Best Advice From Their Mothers

Mother knows best! Haylie Duff, Lisa Vanderpump, Ciara and more stars shared their mothers’ wisdom with Us Weekly in celebration of Mother’s Day. From never giving up on their dreams to letting go of the idea of perfection, the advice runs deep.

Those lessons carry over into the lives of those who have already entered into motherhood themselves. “Being a mother,” Zoe Saldana says of her perfect Mother’s Day. “I work so much that on Mother’s Day, I just want to be a mother. So that’s a day that I take off from the world, and I just mother my children and I mother my life and I mother my home, and I’m there for my husband too. I don’t mother him; he has his own mother. I take care of them while they’re taking care of me.”

The Avengers: Endgame star shares twin boys Cy and Bowie as well as son Zen with husband Marco Perego.

Duff, for her part, has more specific plans in mind to celebrate. “To have a really good coffee brought to me in bed, not have to get the kids up and have them brought to me in bed, get to hang out with them, play in bed, have Lulu stay in the bed because all she wants to do is crawl off the edge of the bed,” she tells Us. “Ryan loves to stay in bed and cuddle, but Lulu’s, like, off to the races. Get our good, solo morning time with the family and then a good beach day. I feel like we don’t get a day like that very often.”

The Real Girl’s Kitchen author and fiancé Matt Rosenberg are parents of daughters Ryan and Lulu.
