Happy Hefners! Cooper and Wife Scarlett Welcome Their 1st Child

Going home with the Hefners! Cooper Hefner’s wife, Scarlett Hefner (née Byrne), gave birth to their first child on Monday, August 24.

“At 5:23pm this afternoon Scarlett and I welcomed our daughter Betsy Rose Hefner into the world,” the new dad tweeted. “We are overwhelmed with gratitude, love and joy.”

He also shared the news via Instagram, where Girls Next Door alum Kendra Wilkinson commented, “Congrats to you all. She’s beautiful. welcome to the world Betsy!!”

The couple announced in March that they were starting a family. “Scarlett and I have been blessed with wonderful news we are ecstatic to share,” Hugh Hefner’s son, 28, captioned his Instagram reveal at the time. “This summer we will be welcoming a new member to the family. The two of us could not be happier as we wait for the arrival of our little one.”

The English star, 29, added with a baby bump photo of her own: “The two of us can’t wait to meet the newest little Hefner.”

The actress showed her budding belly in a floral dress in the social media upload and continued sharing her pregnancy progress with her followers. The Harry Potter star cradled her stomach in a 6-month photo in May and enjoyed a “social-distance picnic” three weeks later.

The Vampire Diaries alum and Cooper tied the knot in November 2019 in California. The bride wrote via Instagram at the time: “I love you Cooper. I am proud to stand by your side, as your partner, your friend and your wife. I cannot wait to continue building a life together.”

The California native chimed in, “Cheers to a life full of love, happiness, adventure, and great purpose, Mrs. Hefner.”

When the pair got engaged in 2015, Hugh congratulated them via Twitter. “Sending love and congratulations to my son Cooper and his fiancée Scarlett on their engagement!” the now-late Playboy founder tweeted at the time.

The Illinois native died in September 2017 at age 91, and Cooper honored his father with a statement reading, “My father lived an exceptional and impactful life as a media and cultural pioneer and a leading voice behind some of the most significant social and cultural movements of our time in advocating free speech, civil rights and sexual freedom. He defined a lifestyle and ethos that lie at the heart of the Playboy brand, one of the most recognizable and enduring in history. He will be greatly missed by many, including his wife Crystal [Harris], my sister Christie and my brothers David and Marston, and all of us at Playboy Enterprises.”
