Future Olympian! Ryan Lochte and Kayla Rae Welcome Their Second Child

Family of four! Ryan Lochte and his wife, Kayla Rae Lochte (née Reid), welcomed their second child, a baby girl, on Monday, June 17.

“Miracle #2 witnessed. Liv Rae Lochte was born today at 10:20am,” the proud dad captioned a photo with his son and newborn daughter on Monday via Instagram. “7lbs 8oz. At 20inch long. She is perfect in every way! #blessed #daddysgirl #lochtefamilyof4.”

The Olympic swimmer, 34, and the model, 27, announced in November 2018 that they were expecting. “BOOM!!! Baby number 2!” Lochte captioned their Instagram reveal at the time. “Can’t wait to bring my fam of 4 to #tokyo2020 #blessed #Lochte4.”

In the sweet shot, the athlete showed off an ultrasound photo while his wife held their son, Caiden. The little one, who arrived in June 2017, was lifting up his white tee to look down at his bare belly.

When Caiden learned the sex of his younger sibling a month later, he was less than thrilled. In fact, he cried in his mom’s arms.

“Yes!!!!! It’s a girl!” the six-time Olympic gold medalist captioned a photo of the December 2018 gender reveal party, which featured a mystery box full of pink balloons and an upset Caiden. “I guess @caidenzanelochte wanted a boy haha #girl #soblessed #cloud 9.”

Reid celebrated her second pregnancy with a March baby shower. “Was showered today with so much love from my friends and family, missing a few!” she captioned a spread of shots on social media. “Everything was so beautiful!!! Thank you so much!”

The Virginia native showed off her baby bump at the party in a lacy purple dress.

She and Lochte married in January 2018 in a courthouse ceremony in Gainesville, Florida, exchanging vows again nine months later in front of their family and friends in Palm Springs, California.

In October 2018, the swimmer was involved in a car crash and announced that he was seeking treatment for an alcohol addiction.

“Ryan has been battling from alcohol addiction for many years and unfortunately it has become a destructive pattern for him,” his agent told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. “He has acknowledged that he needs professional assistance to overcome his problem and will be getting help immediately. Ryan knows that conquering this disease now is a must for him to avoid making future poor decisions, to be the best husband and father he can be, and if he wants to achieve his goal to return to dominance in the pool in his 5th Olympics in Tokyo in 2020.”
