Erin Napier Says Doctors 'Rebroke' Daughter's Leg to Fix Playground Injury: 'Worked a Miracle'

Erin Napier is updating fans on her daughter's recovery after suffering a leg injury.

The Home Town star informed her Instagram followers last week that her 3-year-old daughter Helen, whom she shares with husband Ben Napier, had an accident on a playground slide.

"A fun day at the park turned into a fully broken tibia and fibula when she stepped wrong at the end of a slide," Erin wrote at the time, sharing pics of her child's pink cast and of Ben sleeping next to Helen's crib to keep an eye on her. "So thankful to have @scotsman.co beside me (and sharing nights on the floor by her crib) when = parenting during a pandemic gets even more nerve racking."

On Tuesday, Erin offered an update, explaining how doctors had to "rebreak" Helen's leg to fix the injury.

"It took a procedure with general anesthesia (😰), rebreak and resetting her leg bones with a full leg cast once we made it back home to Mississippi, but my baby girl finally felt great today," she says. "Dr. Kosko at @southernbonehattiesburg worked a miracle for Helen yesterday (and Higgy the tiger didn't hurt, thank you for that @sullivangrams and @therealrachelsullivan 💓)."

"She's gotten well wishes from around the world and wanted me to tell y'all: 'Thank you for checking on me!' " Erin adds of Helen's message.

The Napiers previously opened up to PEOPLE about their decision, when the show began, to keep their daughter off-camera.

"People will walk up when they see her, really excited like, 'Oh, you must be Helen.' And they touch the back of her head," said Ben. "She doesn't like strangers and she doesn't want them to touch her."

"I want Helen to be grounded in the real world and real relationships," added Erin. "She's not ready for social media and won't be for many years. I don't even want her to know that it exists."
