Ciara Is Ready for Challenge of 2 Young Kids – and a Newborn – at Home: 'House Full of Love'

Ciara is using her platform to give back amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The singer is partnering with Discover on its Eat It Forward campaign to give $25,000 awards to 200 Black-owned restaurants around the country to help them bounce back from the COVID-19 crisis.

For Ciara, 34, and husband Russell Wilson, one of the perks of the campaign is to show their kids — 6-day-old son Win Harrison, daughter Sienna Princess, 3, and Ciara's son Future Zahir, 6 — the significance of giving back.

"It's important for them to always know Mom and Dad didn't have a lot growing up," the "Goodies" songstress says in this week's issue of PEOPLE. "It's so important to us to instill the same morals that were instilled in us growing up and the same philosophy that we had growing up."

"We worked hard for everything that we have, and I think it's always important to remind our kids of that, because they definitely are at a much better starting point than we were when we were younger," she admits.

Ciara Shares Adorable Family Photo with Russell Wilson After Their Son's Birth: "Welcome Home Win"

Ciara's family just underwent a new expansion after what she calls the "slowest pregnancy of all." The pair welcomed son Win — whose middle name, Harrison, was chosen in honor of the 31-year-old Seattle Seahawks quarterback's late father, Harrison Wilson — on July 23.

"Sienna's been practicing doing the diapers on her baby doll, and Future says he's going to teach him a lot of stuff," Ciara told PEOPLE one day before giving birth to her new baby boy. "I find them playing in the baby's room like it's their own. It's really sweet."

After Ciara and Wilson announced they were expecting in January, the couple's usually fast-paced lives came to a halt weeks later as the pandemic hit. The singer acknowledges bringing a newborn into the world amid the current climate isn't ideal, but she's been trying to focus on the positive.

"With Russell playing football and me having music, sometimes he's going this way and I'm going that way," she says. "It's been a blessing being able to be with my family more than normal. We have faith that we're going to figure it all out."

"With the kids not having their normal schedule, we've definitely been finding ways to be creative and to figure it all out. I just try my best to find the joy and the goodness in all of it," she adds.

The happy parents, who wed in 2016, also aren't daunted by the idea of having two young children — and now a newborn — all at home 24/7.

"There's definitely going to be a lot of learning to do because every day is a new day in this era," says Ciara. "But I think as a parent, once you have two, any more after that it's like you're ready."

Now, the stars are ready to soak up every second with their new little boy. "A baby has so many milestones and there's so much to look forward to," she tells PEOPLE. "It's a house full of love."

Of her and husband Wilson's commitment to helping those in need, the "1, 2 Step" hitmaker tells PEOPLE that "one of the greatest rewards of what we do is being blessed enough to give back."

"The reality is that, during COVID, the Black community in particular has been disproportionately hit and affected by the magnitude of what has unfolded," she says of taking part in the initiative. "A lot of these restaurants are pillars in their communities. It's hard for the families that own them when it's their lifeline to take care of their households."

"To know companies like Discover are wanting to be thoughtful and intentional about this is very beautiful and I felt very necessary, just using their platform to make a difference and make an impact," Ciara adds. "In this whole era of everything that's going on, I was trying to find the best way to use my platform to make a difference."

From now through Oct. 31, consumers can go to Discover's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages to nominate their favorite Black-owned restaurant as part of the Eat It Forward campaign.
