Céline Dion Creates Gender-Neutral Kids Clothing Line, Celinununu

Music icon Céline Dion has a brand-new passion — one that took us by (pleasant) surprise. And nope, it’s got nothing to do with Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio clinging to a raft in the freezing Atlantic.

The “My Heart Will Go On” singer recently created a gender-neutral fashion line for kids, Celinununu (with children’s-wear designers Iris Adler and Tali Milchberg of global brand Nununu). Celinununu’s mission? To crush the traditional blue-is-for-boys, pink-is-for-girls approach to dressing children. We’re definitely on board (and Leo could have stayed on board that raft with Kate, but that’s another article). There’s a fantastic Jenny Holzer quote on the brand’s site that says it all: “Raise boys and girls the same way.” Love.

The line features a super-fun, revolutionary campaign video starring Dion in a world very different from her recent Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace. Dion released a teaser video on Monday, but the full video is now live on the Celinununu site. Celinununu’s launch video shows Dion being apprehended by security guards after she’s used her magic to transform the hospital nursery into a sparkly black-and-white gender-neutral area — leaving the babies all sporting hip onesies from her new line.

The collection currently offers more than 70 styles for babies through teens, with a price range of about $20 to $90. The palette is bold: black, yellow and white, with fave Nununu symbols like stars, skulls and plus signs in bold font.

“I’ve always loved NUNUNU and what they represent. Partnering with Iris and Tali to encourage a dialogue of equality and possibility makes so much sense,” Dion said in a press statement. “CELINUNUNU lets children choose outside stereotypes and norms, so they can bring from within their own tastes and preferences. We help them feel free, creative, inspired, respectful of one another, and happy in the world.”

Nununu has been a leader in unisex clothing for years. We’re betting this new collab with Dion will inspire many parents to think twice about dressing their newborn in frilly pink lace or blue football jammies. “Our hope is to inspire a renaissance of change,” Milchberg said of the collaboration with Dion.

Ahead, check out some of the highlights of Dion’s Celinununu collection. We think you and your kids are going to love it.
