Cardi B has made headlines for just about everything in the past year, but she doesn’t want her 2-month-old daughter, Kulture, to join her in the spotlight just yet.
“She is very private about Kulture,” a source tells Us Weekly exclusively. “Only very close family and friends have met her.”
The rapper, 25, and her husband, Offset, welcomed their baby girl on July 10. The Migos member, 26, is also the father of three young children from previous relationships: sons Jordan and Kody, and daughter Kalea. Cardi has only shared photos of Kulture’s hands and a tiny sliver of her face on Instagram so far.
“Kulture is being very well taken care of,” the source tells Us. “Cardi is obsessed with her. When she’s traveling, she FaceTimes with her and gets constant updates. Cardi loves working, but also wishes she could spend every second with Kulture. She misses Kulture like crazy when she’s traveling.”
The “I Like It” MC turned to her closest relatives in her first days as a mother. “[She] has family members around her showing her the ropes,” a source told Us in July. “She’s just settling into her mommy duties and loving every second of it. It’s a lot of work, but she doesn’t want a nanny.”
Cardi has since been slowly returning to work. She made her first post-baby red carpet appearance at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards on August 20. She is set to perform at the American Music Awards on October 9, marking the first time she’ll take the stage on TV since Kulture’s arrival.
