Bode and Morgan Miller welcome identical twin boys: ‘It was just so amazing’

The twin boys have arrived!

Bode and Morgan Miller announced on the “Today” show Tuesday that they have welcomed the newest — and tiniest — members of their family: identical twin boys.

The babies are not yet named.

Bode, a former Olympic skier, and Morgan, a professional volleyball player, shared their birth story with “Today.”

“I’m doing really well. We’re still floating from the whole experience,” Morgan said by phone on the show. “It was just so amazing to have it go as spontaneous but as well as it did.”

Bode shared that they had planned a home birth alongside midwives, but when the midwives didn’t arrive in time, he and his mom, a former midwife, helped.

“For Bode to get to deliver his identical twin boys with his mom — it was just pure magic,” Morgan said.

The couple already shares sons Nash, 4 and Easton, 1. Bode is also dad to a daughter Neesyn, 11, and a son Samuel, 6.

The couple were also parents to a daughter, Emeline, who died in a tragic drowning accident when she was 19 months old on June 10, 2018.

Since then, the Millers have become strong advocates of water safety, sharing videos of their youngest boy learning how to float and being a voice for the American Academy of Pediatrics in an effort to prevent future tragedies.

“There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t pray for the opportunity to go back to that day and make it different,” Morgan Miller said on the “Today” show, a little over a month after losing her daughter. “But now we have this opportunity to make other parents’ days different.”

Almost one year ago, on June 10th, @nicolehughes8 and I became accidental advocates for water safety when we both endured a parent’s worst nightmare…we lost our babies to drowning. Since then, we have partnered with the aap @healthychildrenaap along with many other incredible organizations to eliminate this preventable tragedy. In an effort to protect parents hearts and families futures from enduring one of life’s unthinkable events, we continue to spread awareness. Did you know that drowning is the NUMBER ONE cause of death for children under 5? Did you know that most drownings happen during non swim times when you think your baby is playing on the family room floor? With a holiday weekend quickly approaching, be vigilant, be aware and be a voice to spread awareness. Do not rely on the visual stimulation of water to trigger your awareness. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend! #Drowning #DrowningPrevention #WaterSafety #PoolSafety #HealthyChildren #Parents #Parenthood #Parenting #InstaParenting #ParentingTips #baby #babies #child #children #kids #toddler #toddlers #MemorialDay #HolidayWeekend

The couple welcomed Easton in October 2018, just four months after the death of Emeline.

“He is so special and has brought so much healing and hope,” Morgan wrote in an Instagram post introducing Easton. “Our baby Emmy will never be replaced but man, has this little bundle allowed us to feel a small sense of peace and in a weird way, a connection between the heavens and earth.”

They announced in August that they were expecting twins by debuting Morgan’s baby bump on the “Today” show.

Twin boys were something Bode had imagined.

“From the beginning of our relationship, (he) always said, ‘I want identical twin boys, born on my birthday,’ ” Morgan said. “And this time, when we found out I was pregnant, I said, ‘Do you think it’s twins this time?’ And he said ‘No.’ “

Sure enough, they shared on Instagram that they were expecting twin boys. The twin boys didn’t arrive on daddy’s birthday (Oct. 12) though, but pretty darn close!
