Blake Lively Explains Why Her Daughter Thought She Was About to Give Birth

Kids say the darnedest things! Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds had a laugh while celebrating their six years of wedded bliss on Sunday, September 9.

“I had to explain to my daughter what an anniversary is,” Lively revealed during a Wednesday, September 12, appearance on Good Morning America. “She’s like, ‘What is it, does it mean you’re having another baby today?’ And I was like, ‘Dear God, no. It doesn’t, it means it’s our wedding’s birthday.’”

The Gossip Girl alum and Deadpool 2 actor, 41, are parents of girls James, 3, and Inez (a.k.a. Nezzie), who will turn 2 later this month.

James is already a bit of a star. The little girl makes a voice cameo in the opening for Taylor Swift’s hit song “Gorgeous.” In July, the proud parents were caught freaking out when the pop singer performed the track.

“We were very embarrassing,” the A Simple Favor actress quipped. She added that James doesn’t know she’s a celeb. “Our kids have very normal lives, as much as that’s possible,” Lively explained. “So she didn’t even get a title on the album. I should be collecting royalties!” (Lively and Swift are close pals. The Grammy winner paid the mom a visit at the hospital after she gave birth to Nezzie in 2016.)

Lively and Reynolds tied the knot at a historic South Carolina plantation in 2012. “She always responds with empathy. She meets anger with empathy. She meets hate with empathy,” Reynolds gushed about Lively in 2017. “She’ll take the time to imagine what happened to a person when they were 5 or 6 years old. And she’s made me a more empathic person.”
