Bindi Irwin Honored an ‘Extreme’ Request From Daughter Grace & the Photo Is Pure Magic

Bindi Irwin’s 2-year-old daughter Grace Warrior has an adventurous spirit, and her latest idea led to a super special moment. The toddler asked her mom to do something “extreme,” and, being the Wildlife Warrior she is, Irwin decided to go for it.

“Grace wanted to read her book in a tree with me … so here we are … 💛,” the Crikey! It’s The Irwins star wrote on Instagram. “’Read me a book … but make it extreme’ — Grace 😂” her husband (and Grace’s dad!) Chandler Powell added in a comment.

It turns out Grace is secretly a daredevil — and she’s only 2! In the accompanying photograph, Irwin sits on a thick tree trunk that is leaning to the side (which allows for better seating!). Her legs are out in front of her, and Grace sits snugly in her lap. The little girl is wearing a blue-and-white floral shirt with khaki pants and a coral bucket hat with sunflowers. She has one hand on her heart as her mom wraps her arms around her to read a book.

With the sun shining on them and the trees surrounding them, this is one of the cutest pictures we’ve ever seen. It looks like something out of a fairy tale to go to your backyard in Australia Zoo, climb a tree, and snuggle in for some mother-daughter reading. The whole thing is just so charming. Good idea, Grace!

There are many benefits to reading outside, including improving your eyesight. And being outside in general is great for kids (and adults), as it encourages them to exercise, helps improve their focus, and gives them a brain break from technology. So, Grace may have thought this just sounded fun to do, but it actually has tons of health and wellness benefits, too!

Next time you go to read with your child, take a cue from Bindi and Grace, and go outside. You don’t need to climb a tree — simply enjoying the fresh air, some sunshine, and nature sounds will make for a unique reading experience that your kids will love.
