Are Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively Trying for Baby No. 3?

When Ryan Reynolds appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday, December 4, he gushed about how fatherhood has made him “a better person.” But the Once Upon a Deadpool actor and his wife, Blake Lively, won’t be trying for baby No. 3 any time soon.

Reynolds, 42, shared the news after audience members misinterpreted a joke about his daughters ,James, 3, and Inez, 2.

“That happened from sex,” the X-Men Origins star teased. “Just FYI.”

“So you’ve only had sex twice?” DeGeneres replied.

“Just two times, yeah,” the Canada native quipped. “It’s a mercenary job, hoping for a third soon.”

When the crowd started cheering, Reynolds shook his head and said, “No.”

While chatting with DeGeneres, Reynolds admitted that parenthood is exhausting. “It’s hard. It’s always a challenge, with two kids,” he revealed. “I think of blinking now like tiny little breaks.” But the Two Guys and a Girl alum wouldn’t have it any other way. “It’s the dream,” he gushed. “They’re like my buddies.”

Once Upon a Deadpool  —  a PG-13 re-release of Deadpool 2 — will hit theaters on Wednesday, December 12, and run through Christmas Eve.

“Cause parents and adults, myself included, want content that they can watch with their kids that’s also entertaining for you,” Reynolds said on Tuesday. “And that’s what this version of Deadpool is.”

James and Inez are still a bit young for the flick, so Reynolds has his fingers crossed for a new Disney hit. “I have seen Frozen with my daughters so, so many times,” he sighed. “People don’t know this, a lot of people don’t know this, but if you actually watch Frozen backwards, it’s actually a shot for shot remake of The Exorcist. So that would obviously enrage a lot of parents.”

For every Once Upon a Deadpool ticket sold, $1 will be donated to F–K Cancer.
