Amanda Stanton Responds to 'Trolls' Who Criticized Her for Letting Daughter, 6½, Get Highlights

Amanda Stanton has something to say about those criticizing her parenting.

After sharing a series of photos and video of her 6½-year-old daughter Kinsley getting highlights in her hair — which she referred to as “babylights” in one salon video — the 28-year-old Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise alum addressed some of the negative feedback she had received as a result of her older child’s dye job.

One of the critical comments left on a mother-daughter photo, where the pair showed off their matching ‘dos, read, “Make sure she knows as a child her natural appearance is not enough (poor little girl).”

Another commenter opined, “When she is in therapy or the plastic surgeon’s office at 13 for not feeling good enough about her looks in this ridiculously shallow insta-world, Mama might be regretting some of the choices she made for her. As the mother of an 18 year old and 15 year old girl … trust me, I know!”

Stanton responded in a general message on her Instagram Story Sunday night, writing, “Confession: When I posted the poll about getting Kins hair (HARDLY) highlighted, I knew it would trigger the trolls. But I did it anyway … so in a way I was trolling the trolls!”

The mother of two (she also has a 5-year-old daughter named Charlie Emma) realizes not everyone is going to agree with her, and is using the opportunity to show that everyone has different approaches to parenting.

“Of course I got some messages saying she’s too young etc. … but I got a lot more saying ‘I’m so glad you let her and didn’t care what anyone negative had to say,’ ” Stanton continued.

“So, moral of the story is not everyone is going to agree with everything you do … & that’s okay! We all are entitled to our own decisions and opinions and thoughts on parenting etc and not everyone is going to agree with you and that’s OKAY.”

In October, the reality-star-turned-lifestyle blogger revealed in an Instagram Story that she, at times, battles with her own self-confidence.

“One of the reasons I dislike social media is because its become hard to not compare yourself to others at times,” Stanton replied when a fan asked for tips on body positivity. “I find myself getting insecure about my body all the time & wish I had more curves or were taller etc.”

To help her reorient her thoughts to have a positive perspective, the mother of two looks to her faith in God. “But we have to remind ourselves that we’re all unique and beautiful just the way God made us!” she concluded.
