Carrie Underwood is enjoying her Mom’s night out!
On Sunday, the singer, 36, made her first red-carpet appearance since welcoming her 10-week-old son Jacob Bryan with husband Mike Fisher, attending the 2019 ACM Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Underwood stunned in a black and silver metallic gown with double thigh slits and Fisher wore a black suit.
Speaking to PEOPLE on the carpet, Underwood said her newborn son has been “so good here in Vegas.”
“Last night the air was getting to him so we were up for a while, but that’s life with a 2½-month-old,” she said. “He’s great. He’s a sweetie.”
As for how her life has changed now that she’s a mother of two?
“It is harder, trying to entertain my 4-year-old and take care of the baby. But he’s such a great big brother and says it’s his baby. ‘Where’s my baby?!’” she said of proud big brother Isaiah Michael, 4.
Underwood, who is nominated for female vocalist of the year, will also serve as a performer. She will take the stage with Maddie & Tae and Mickey Guyton as well as This Is Us star Chrissy Metz to perform the song “I’m Standing With You” from Metz’s upcoming feature-film debut, Breakthrough.
The ACMs are a special show for Underwood, who made her return to the stage at last year’s awards just five months after she broke her wrist during a fall on her front porch and suffered an injury to her face, which resulted in more than 40 stitches.

Underwood announced the arrival of her newborn on Jan. 23, two days after his birth, with a social media post that read, “Jacob Bryan Fisher entered the world in the wee hours of the morning on Monday … his mom, dad and big brother couldn’t be happier for God to trust them with taking care of this little miracle!”
The mother of two also shared a photo gallery of herself, Fisher and proud big brother Isaiah Michael, 4, with newborn Jacob.
“Our hearts are full, our eyes are tired and our lives are forever changed. Life is good … ” Underwood added.

Since giving birth, the country star has been documenting her body-after-baby transformation. In March, she opened up about the pressure to “bounce back” after giving birth, sharing how the “difficult” changes in her body have impacted her.
“I’m going to be honest, ‘bouncing back’ after having Jacob has been much more difficult than after I had Isaiah and I’ve been pretty hard on myself lately,” she wrote on Instagram. “I go into the gym and I can’t run as fast or as far. I can’t lift as much weight or do as many reps as I could a year ago.”
The American Idol champion continued candidly, “I just want to feel like myself again … for my body to feel the way that I know it can.”
“As I was working out today, I realized that for the past 11(ish) months, my body has not belonged to me,” Underwood continued. “It was a perfect home for Jacob. And even now it belongs to him every time he drinks his milk. As I prepare for red carpets and for life on tour, right now I make a promise to myself to start appreciating what my body CAN do and stop focusing on what it can’t.”

Underwood also made a vow to herself that she hopes inspires her fans and followers.
“I promise to stop analyzing every angle and every curve and every pound and every meal. I’m going to keep staying he path because it is a journey and as long as I’m always working towards my goals, one day I’ll reach them,” she said. “I’m going to take it day by day, smile at the girl in the mirror, and work out because I love this body and all it has done and will continue to do!”
