5 Women Who Were Romantically Linked to Prince Charles (Some During His Marriage to Princess Diana)

It’s no secret that both Princess Diana and Prince Charles engaged in a number of affairs throughout their marriage. Charles even owned up to his own infidelity in 1994, asking The Daily Mail, “Do you seriously expect me to be the first Prince of Wales in history not to have a mistress?”

While one woman stood out as his most famous mistress, he was actually rumored to have been involved in quite a few affairs. Here are 5 women who were romantically linked to Charles, including some during his marriage to Diana.

1. Barbra Streisand

Apparently, Charles had a crush on Barbra Streisand for years. His college dorm room wall at Cambridge University was even adorned with a poster of the actress, according to the 2016 book, Game of Crowns: Elizabeth, Camilla, Kate, and the Throne.

He reportedly paid Streisand a visit on the set Funny Girl in 1974, and they stayed in contact over the years. When he was finally married to Diana, Charles and Streisand met up in Los Angeles. The author of the book insisted, “Yes, indeed, something was going on,” when Inside Edition asked point-blank if they were having an affair.

2. Dale ‘Kanga’ Tryon

Charles was close with Lord Anthony Tryon, which made the prince’s rumored affair with his wife that much more scandalous. Reports surfaced that Charles had a long-term affair with fashion designer Dale “Kanga” Tryon, but they’d denied the whole ordeal. However, some sources claim Charles called Tryon “the only woman who ever understood me.”

3. Sabrina Guinness

In 1979, Charles reportedly had a fling with Sabrina Guinness, a wealthy heiress. She was rumored to have hooked up with the likes of Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Rod Stewart, and Jack Nicholson, so we wouldn’t be surprised if she added a prince to the list. Her romance with Charles reportedly ended after a fight en route to an event at Balmoral Castle.

4. Camilla Parker Bowles

Charles’ relationship with his mistress-turned-wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, goes way back to the ‘70s. Before Charles was ever married to Diana, he and Parker Bowles were in a relationship. She reportedly hoped for an engagement, but while Charles was off with the military, she ended up tying the knot with Andrew Parker Bowles.

They may have each married separately, but that certainly did not mean the end for Charles and Parker Bowles. For years, they had an affair (which Diana was very aware of). Then, in 1992, “Camillagate” exposed the two for having promiscuous phone conversations to the public.

After his divorce from Diana in 1996 and her tragic death one year later, Charles finally wed Parker Bowles in 2005.

5. Lady Jane Wellesley

When she was in her early 20s, Lady Jane Wellesley was rumored to have been in a relationship with Charles. According to Town & Country magazine, that involved “secret sleepovers in her tiny suburban house.”

When paparazzi caught wind of their romance, they tried to get any information out of the potential pair. When she finally had enough, she responded, “Do you honestly believe I want to be the queen?”
