5 Pounds Gone! Britney Spears Says ‘Stress’ Is ‘Great’ for ‘Weight Loss’

Taking a physical toll. Britney Spears revealed she lost weight due to “stress” amid her recent mental health struggles.

The “Toxic” singer, 37, posted a workout video on Instagram on Wednesday, April 24, and quipped, “Who knew stress would be a great 5 pound weight loss. Yay for me.”

In the clip, Spears wore a yellow sports bra and black pants as she did a variety of moves, including standing shoulder flies and oblique dips, and crunches on a medicine ball. She concluded her fitness session with a sexy dance routine. It is unclear where the video was filmed.

The Crossroads alum’s exercise video came hours after she posted a more serious clip in which she updated “concerned” fans on how she is doing in mental health treatment. She noted, “All is well. My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately, so I just needed time to deal. But don’t worry: I’ll be back very soon.”

The pop icon also told supporters that she is “trying” to heal and is “doing what’s best at this moment.” She captioned the video, “You may not know this about me, but I am strong, and stand up for what I want! Your love and dedication is amazing, but what I need right now is a little bit of privacy to deal with all the hard things that life is throwing my way. If you could do that, I would be forever grateful. Love you.”

Multiple sources confirmed to Us Weekly earlier this month that Spears checked herself into a “wellness center that prioritizes physical, mental and spiritual well-being” for a 30-day program. Her decision came after her father, Jamie Spears, suffered serious health issues, which the musician “couldn’t emotionally handle.”

Stars such as Miley Cyrus, Jenni “JWoww” Farley and Lisa Rinna showed their support for Britney on social media after she updated fans on her current state. The All New Mickey Mouse Club alum’s boyfriend, Sam Asghari, told TMZ that the “Womanizer” songstress is “doing great” and “nobody needs to worry” about her condition.
