Do J.Lo and A-Rod have the guts to take on a fixer upper? Joanna Gaines seems to think so.
The former star of HGTV’s Fixer Upper visited the new Malibu beach house of Jennifer Lopez and boyfriend Alex Rodriguez and, a source confirms to PEOPLE, they’re considering remodeling the oceanfront property together — but no decisions have been made yet.

“Jennifer wanted to walk the space with Joanna in person,” the source says. “They’re both extremely busy, but it’s hard to take on any kind of home project without actually seeing the space.”
Despite the presence of a camera crew filming the pair outside the property, however, the source says, “There is no formal plan for any of the footage and there have not been any final decisions made in terms of whether Joanna will be involved [in designing the house] or to what extent.”
Instead, the meeting, was “really just an opportunity for them to walk the space together and for Joanna to hear Jennifer’s vision for the space.”
Lopez revealed on a recent episode of Ellen, that Rodriguez had surprised her with a FaceTime call from Gaines as an anniversary gift. The World of Dance creator is a self-professed superfan of the the Gainses and their show, which aired its final episode in April 2018.
“We got a little fixer upper next to the water, and we were like, ‘Oh, we gotta fix this up, it’s really a house that needs work,’” Lopez explained to DeGeneres “I was like, wouldn’t it be amazing to have [Joanna Gaines] do it for us? But she doesn’t do anything outside of Waco[,Texas], like nothing.”
It seems the Texas-based designer has expanded her horizons however, as photos show the new friends, along with Gaines’s 8-month-old son Crew, standing on the beach and seemingly talking about possible plans for the house.”
Lopez and Rodriguez, who recently celebrated their 2-year anniversary, also have a home in New York City. The retired baseball star listed his Los Angeles mansion for $6.5 million. in November 2018. And Lopez put her New York City penthouse up for sale for $27 million in October 2017.
“They will invest together in a new home when they find the perfect one,” a source told PEOPLE at the time. Noting, “They are starting to make more financial decisions together.”
