Home and Away reveals Jasmine's devastating secret

Robbo (Jake Ryan) has been doing his best to fix his relationship with Jasmine (Sam Frost) since returning to the Bay, but her reaction has left him – and everyone around them – confused. Struggling with anxiety and adamant she doesn’t want anything to do with him anymore, Jasmine has been throwing herself into work and exercise in an effort to avoid him.

But Robbo isn’t about to give up on her that easily, and decides to send her daily texts – a measure that Willow (Sarah Roberts) supports. All this does, though, is make Jasmine more stressed, and push herself harder with exercise. Things reach breaking point when Robbo runs up beside her, saying he’s her new running partner, and Jasmine collapses, overcome with stress and exhaustion.

After carrying her into the Diner, Robbo is told to leave by an emotional Jasmine, and he lingers outside, wanting to help but not knowing how. Once she’s spoken to Irene (Lynne McGranger), Jasmine realises she has to talk to Robbo and clear the air. She heads to the Pier Apartment, but is overcome by the memories and heads outside.

Joining her downstairs, Robbo says he’s there for her, and Jasmine finally reveals a secret which explains her unusual behaviour. The parents she’s spoken of were foster parents; her own mother died in a car crash when she was six. She was left waiting at the school gates, and her dad eventually came to pick her up instead. He was a complete mess after his wife’s death, and a year later, he took off and abandoned her. History repeated itself as Jasmine was left waiting at the school gates once again.

While Jasmine has had a good experience with her foster parents, she admits to Robbo that she knows how to deal with someone leaving – but has no idea how to cope when they come back…will their relationship ever heal after a confession like this?
