Watch Kate Hudson Masterfully Belt Out ‘Shallow’ Ahead of the Oscars — While Doing Pilates!

Kate Hudson is ready for the Oscars — even if it means she’s neglecting her workout!

The actress showed off her seriously impressive pipes as she belted out “Shallow” from A Star Is Born, all while doing Pilates.

Hudson shared the video of her workout/singing practice on Instagram.

“Gearing up for my in-living room Oscar performance,” she wrote, and added her “apologies to @ladygaga and @iammarkronson for the lyrics,” after she mixed up the verses.

She also included a few hashtags about her performance, adding, “#mommybrain #WasIInTheRightKey? #IReallyWasFocused #SometimesYouJustNeedToBeltItOut”.

Her followers loved the video — and were amazed at her hidden vocal talents. But her longtime trainer Nicole Stuart wasn’t quite as amused, asking Hudson “are you focused?” and said, “This is impossible,” while laughing.

Then after Hudson excitedly said, “I think I hit the note!” an exasperated but laughing Stuart told her, “Why don’t you hit the proper form, and then hit the note.”

Hudson is back in the workout groove after giving birth to her third child, daughter Rani Rose, in October. Her goal is to lose 25 lbs. before she starts filming a new movie in the Spring, and she teamed up with WW, formerly Weight Watchers, to stay on top of her diet.

“It came at a perfect time for me, because at this point after having three babies it’s like sense memory. You want to start getting back into shape and to get strong again and focus on your own personal health,” she told PEOPLE in December. “It’s hard when you have babies. Everyone comes before you, and you have to find that time to just focus in on yourself.”

But over the last two months she’s been able to track her diet with WW and get in lots of gym time in between nursing and caring for Rani. Hudson said she loves the “challenge” of moving her body again.

“I enjoy being disciplined. I enjoy being athletic, and I enjoy being active. So for me it’s actually kind of a fun time to challenge my body again in certain ways,” she said. “After pregnancy, getting your body back into shape for me — especially in fitness — finding my stomach muscles again and pushing myself a little bit harder sometimes are things that I enjoy.”

Whether she hits the right key or not, Hudson should be able to sing along with Lady Gaga as she performs “Shallow” during the Oscars — either from the comfort of her couch or on the Pilates reformer.
