People are revealing the shocking reasons they cheat in spate of confessions

Anyone who has been cheated on, or even knows somebody who has, will know how completely devastating it can be.

One of the worst aspects is the adulterer isn’t always honest about the reasons why they did it.

This means you can end up going over things in your mind again and again, possibly even blaming yourself for something that’s not your fault.

Now, serial cheaters are explaining in a brutally honest way what causes them to betray their partners in a spate of shocking confessions on Whisper – and some of them are pretty ridiculous.

Feeling lonely or not receiving enough attention from partners seemed to be a common theme among some of the cheaters.

One person wrote: "My husband travels a lot for work and I just get so lonely when he’s gone… I don’t know how to stop".

Another said that they hadn’t heard from their boyfriend in two days and that "he doesn’t pay enough attention to me".

Others think they do it because they simply can’t help themselves.

Someone else said described their indiscretions as "moments of weakness" and doesn’t even plan on telling the wife because "they were all mistakes".

Another said that they wish they could stop making "stupid mistakes while drunk" but they can’t, while someone else described themselves as a "sex addict".

Some people said they started to sleep around because they weren’t sexually fulfilled by their significant other.

One person said they can’t stop it because "regular sex is boring".

Another wrote that although they feel guilt they also "feel justified because she wouldn’t sleep with me for months at a time".

Someone else said: "We just weren’t compatible and I was a coward".

A few of the people on the site said they do actually feel really bad about what they’re doing.
