Luke Perry’s former Beverly Hills: 90210 cast-mate is wishing him well in the wake of his massive stroke on Wednesday.
In a Thursday Instagram post, Ian Ziering—who played Steve Sanders on the classic ’90s series—shared a black-and-white throwback photo of the two of them, along with a moving message. (Perry, now 52, played Dylan McKay, the sensitive bad boy with the trademark whispery voice.)
“No words can express what my heart feels hearing today’s shocking news. Let us all say a prayer for his speedy recovery,” Ziering, 54, wrote. Countless fans chimed in praying for Perry to get better.

Paramedics were reportedly called to Perry’s Sherman Oaks, California, home on Wednesday morning around 9:40 a.m., and they rushed the actor to an L.A. hospital.
On Thursday, a rep for the actor told People that “Mr. Perry is currently under observation at the hospital.”
Strokes occur when blood flow to the brain is cut off. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 800,000 people are affected by strokes every year in the U.S. Of them, nearly 140,000 die.
In 2009, roughly a third of people hospitalized for a stroke were under 65 years old. In 2017, a study published in JAMA Neurology found that strokes are becoming increasingly prevalent among younger men.
