Pumpkin spice latte season has started at Greggs in August.
The bakery chain has brought out its autumnal beverage slightly ahead of schedule this year – just before the summer bank holiday weekend.
It’s the earliest Greggs has ever launched the pumpkin spice latte but, with thunder and showers on today’s forecast, the timing is actually pretty perfect.
The popular drink is made using a blend of freshly ground coffee, pumpkin spice flavoured syrup and steamed milk – and then topped off with sweet cream and sprinkling of spiced sugar.
Customers can pick them up in stores from today (August 25) for £2.20 – which is 25p more expensive than last year.
Although anyone looking to save the pennies can get a free hot drink of their choice – including a pumpkin spice latte – today if they download the Greggs app.
To sign up, you simply need to enter you name, email address, mobile number and postcode. The free drink will then be automatically added to your wallet in the app.
Also, if it’s your birthday soon, you’re in luck – as you can claim a free sweet treat, too.
A Greggs spokesperson said: ‘Although we’re still enjoying the last of the summer heat, we know how much our customers enjoy a pumpkin spice latte, no matter what the temperature.
‘We hope the early return of this favourite will be a delight to Greggs fans nationwide.’
