This Bodybuilder Ate Like WWE Champion Roman Reigns for a Day

Fitness YouTuber Aseel Soueid will frequently film challenge videos where he follows the daily routine of swole celebrities and athletes. He’s eaten The Rock’s infamous cheat day meals, trained like MMA fighter Conor McGregor (complete with shots of whiskey), and subjected himself to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s grueling “blueprint” workout. For his most recent challenge, Soueid turns his attention to the WWE, and decides to spend the day eating the same diet as Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Reigns follows a macro split of 40 percent carbs, 40 percent protein, 20 percent fat (you can read more about his workout and diet plan in his Men’s Health interview). “His diet plan is no joke,” says Soueid. “It’s going to consist of 6 clean meals and almost 3,000 calories.”

The first meal of the day is a common bro breakfast, consisting of a cup of oatmeal and 2 whole eggs with 6 egg whites. “Roman Reigns follows a pretty standard bro diet,” says Soueid.

Dish number 2, the pre-workout meal, is another bro staple; skinless chicken breast, brown rice, and mixed vegetables. Then Soueid follows his training session with a packed lunch—his pre-workout meal—of a protein shake, and 2 whole cans of tuna on sandwiches with mustard. “This is not fun at all,” he says.

The fourth meal is another protein shake, and then the fifth comprises even more chicken breast, brown rice and vegetables, as well as some pasta. “OK, this is the only time when carbs on carbs just don’t taste good,” he says. “Brown rice on pasta, not a good combo.”

The sixth and final meal is one more protein shake, bringing Soueid’s total food intake of the day to 2,955 calories, across 287 grams of carbs, 288 grams of protein, and 70 grams of fat.
