Nearly nine in ten Brits are not impressed by dinner party without cocktails

9 in 10 Brits say cocktails are needed to host an impressive dinner party

Nearly nine in ten Brits say they are not truly impressed by a dinner party – unless cocktails are served, according to research. Even during the cost-of-living crisis, it seems Brits have not lowered their expectations – with 86 percent wanting to be treated to a fancy drink when they are invited to a dinnertime soiree.

And the poll of 2,000 adults found that, not only do they love drinking cocktails, but also making them – as the average adult has two cocktails recipes in their repertoire.

But it seems Mojitos and Espresso Martinis are a thing of the past – as the nation’s favourite cocktail is now the punchy Margarita.

Unfortunately, two-thirds of Marg-lovers have found themselves in a position where they are preparing the Mexican speciality, only to realise they have run out of one crucial ingredient – limes.

Thankfully, help is on hand for those planning to throw a cocktail party this weekend – as a free lime delivery service has been launched to save your dinner party from such an emergency.

Margarita fans who know what’s good for them will be able to call Hot Lime helpline to receive a fresh fruit delivery in a lime emergency vehicle in London, Glasgow, and Manchester, on July 21 and 22.

My Dad Wrote a Porno star, Alice Levine, has teamed up with Altos Tequila, to make sure that no-one goes without limes for their beloved Margaritas – or worse, uses lemon as a sad substitute.

Speaking about the perils of a lime-less Margarita, Alice Levine, said: “Contrary to my well-orchestrated propaganda, when I host a dinner party I am often very disorganised!

“It’s not uncommon for me to have forgotten a key ingredient, and only realise in a panic at the last minute.

“Thankfully my Margaritas don’t need to rely on my memory, with the Altos Hot Lime Delivery Service. Host credentials preserved, drinks crises averted.”

Simon Hodgson, Brand Ambassador at Altos Tequila, said: “We’ve all been there – we go to mix a Margarita and end up underestimating our lime supply, reaching out for the lemons, or worse.

“Altos has been voted the best tequila for Margaritas four times since 2019, so we don’t want any of our drinkers to suffer a bad cocktail at the hands of a lime emergency.

“This summer, we’re going to extreme lengths to make sure the nation’s Margs are perfect, with the brand-new Hot Lime service.”

Operating in London, Manchester, and Glasgow, for two days only, city-dwellers can call on the Hot Lime Delivery Service by dialling the hotline on 0800 464 7041, on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 July, 2023.
