Love gin but sick of having it with tonic? Try these two gin cocktail recipes

Don’t get us wrong, we all love a gin and tonic – or two. It’s a classic.

But, after years of gin taking the spotlight – whether it’s pink gin, flavoured gin, or normal gin with a quirky tonic – we’re truly running out of new combinations.

Walter Pintus, a world class mixologist who is working with gin brand Caorunn, has crafted two unique gin cocktails to, quite literally, mix things up a bit.

From tropical flavours to sour notes, these are two of the best drinks for gin lovers who are over plain old G&Ts.

‘This summer cocktail uses foraged and preserved gooseberry to create a bright spritzer style drink,’ says Walter.

The preserved gooseberry makes for a very tropical-tasting drink – perfect for pretending summer isn’t coming to an end.

Ingredients:

  • 30ml gin
  • 30ml Gooseberry syrup
  • Blanc De Blanc sparkling wine, to top up
  • Gooseberries to garnish

The Scottish Riviera

According to Walter, this is an ‘elegant gin sour with vibrant notes of fennel, tempered with a delicate yet creamy raspberry texture.’

Sounds fancy, eh?

  • 2 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 5 fresh raspberries
  • 20ml lemon juice
