There may be over four months to go until Christmas but Greggs is already getting in the festive spirit.
The pastry legends have confirmed the 2020 launch date of one of their best-loved Christmassy treats – the Festive Bake.
It looks like the delightful snack will be returning on Thursday 5 November – so be sure to add it to your calendars.
There may be 127 days to go before the big day but with summer slowly drawing to a close, a glimpse of upcoming Christmas treats could be just what we need right now.
Greggs shared the news on Twitter with the caption: ‘If anything can save 2020, it’s the Festive Bake #79Days.’
One person tweeted: ‘I’ve never had a Festive Bake. I’ve never fancied a Festive bake. Until now! I’ll try anything to end 2020 on a high.’
While another said: ‘Surely the state of this year is enough of an excuse to bring it out earlier!’
Others were quick to query whether this means veggie and vegan alternatives will also be available on the date.
Another individual replied to Greggs saying: ‘Please lord bring out a vegan version.’
Someone else shared how they have been getting through in the meantime, saying: ‘I stocked up on Festive Bakes when they were in Iceland, which means while Greggs aren’t currently selling them in bakers, I can still have a Festive Bake any time I want. What a strategy.’
Another person commented: ‘This can’t come soon enough. I’m down to the final 2 in my freezer.’
In other food news, Toblerone has just brought out a new orange flavoured bar which combines Swiss milk chocolate, candied orange peel, ginger and honey and almond nougat.
