Valentine’s Day is coming up, and the last thing you probably want to think about is your ex. Well, just this once, I think you’re going to want to dig up your old memory box because Burger King is letting you trade those not-so-romantic memories for a delicious burger.
This Valentine’s Day, select Burger King locations in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Boston will have Birds of Prey-themed “breakup boxes.” (For all those not in the know, Birds Of Prey is an upcoming movie about Batman villain Harley Quinn, starring Margot Robbie.) If you bring a printed photo of your ex and stuff it inside one of the boxes, you’ll receive a free Whopper. Finally: Your ex is good for something!
Because this is 2020, unless you’ve totally scrubbed the internet of all traces of your ex, you can probably find a photo to print out in order to get the burger. Come on, I’m sure there’s one floating around on Facebook somewhere. If you really can’t stomach finding out, if you’re in New York City you can also bring in letters, stuffed animals, or a specified piece of clothing to claim a burger.
If you don’t live near one of the breakup boxes or your ex is just far too hideous to be seen by any Burger King employee, Burger King is also launching an in-app quiz with five questions. If you answer four correctly, you can get a $3 Whopper.
So I guess it’s a pretty good time to be single and love hamburgers right now! Who knew? Now if only I could get a free Impossible Whopper for having terrible taste in men…
