Zara Tindall is the daughter of Princess Anne and the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II. Like many in the Royal Family, Zara has worn some beautiful pieces of jewellery.

One item that she sports most regularly is the engagement ring she was given by Mike Tindall.

Zara met the union rugby league player nearly 20 years ago, in 2003.

Their engagement was announced seven years later in a statement from Buckingham Palace.

It read: “The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Zara Phillips to Mr Mike Tindall, son of Mr Phillip and Mrs Linda Tindall.”

Royal fans were soon given a glimpse of Zara’s engagement ring which had a central diamond and head of diamonds and jewellery at Beaverbrooks Lorna Haddon commented on this.

The expert stated it could come with an impressive price tag.

She told Express.co.uk: “Zara’s engagement ring features a stunning split band covered in pave diamonds, with a large brilliant-cut diamond at its centre.

“The shape of the split shank frames the central diamond beautifully.

“I’d estimate the ring’s value to be around the £30,000 mark.”

Apart from it’s eye-catching looks, there may have been another sweet reason why Mike chose the ring.

The design could take into consideration Zara’s career as an equestrian and former Olympian, the expert claimed.

Lorna continued: “As Zara is an Olympic equestrian rider and big sports fan, Mike’s choice was practical as well as beautiful, with a low-sitting diamond.”

Zara and Mike’s wedding took place just months after their cousins Kate Middleton and Prince William married.

While also a royal celebration, Zara opted for a much more modest ceremony.

The couple tied the knot in front of 400 guests at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The royal wore a classic wedding dress by Stewart Parvin which had a pleated bodice and a drop waistline.

The bodice was attached by sleeves made of white lace.

The mother-of-three accessorised with a pair of drop diamond earrings and a veil attached to a low bun.

She also followed royal traditions by borrowing a tiara from the Queen’s collection.

The 40-year-old chose to wear a diamond tiara which once belonged to Prince Philip’s mother.
