When left untreated, mold can grow in our shower curtains, presenting a bigger problem that is more difficult to clean.
Fortunately, there are some simple solutions to remove those stains easily.
Some are natural alternatives to traditional cleaners, while others are do-it-yourself hacks.
Below, we round up three of the most effective options for cleaning your shower curtain and getting rid of those brown stains.

Using baking soda as the main ingredient, with its natural stain-fighting abilities, one DIY concoction can be made in minutes.
Fill your bathtub with warm water, dish soap, and a decent amount of baking soda.
Allow your shower curtain to soak for an hour before laying it flat to dry.
Then, if you find any lingering residue, use a damp cloth for removal.
It's important to keep cleansing the surface to prevent the transfer of the lingering residue.
This process can be repeated for harder-to-eliminate stains.
Use your washing machine
If your shower curtain has many large stains, this is another viable option.
The key here is to include two or three older bath towels in the wash with your shower curtain.

This makes it more of a natural solution and the scent of the oils will outweigh the vinegar.

Use a mold-fighting solution
Combine the two main ingredients from the first two hacks– baking soda and white vinegar– to create the ultimate cleaning solution.
Mix two parts white vinegar to one part baking soda.
Do this until you have enough solution to cover your shower curtain.
Lay the curtain flat and use a brush or rag to cover any brown stains or moldy spots with the mixture.
You can scrub the spots with the solution until they fade.
Then, make a warm water mix with a few drops of your favorite essential oil and use it to spray the shower curtain before letting it dry.
