Why you should never spray perfume on your knickers like I’m a Celebrity’s Frankie Bridge

I'M A Celebrity's Frankie Bridge had viewers in stitches as she sniffed her dirty knickers after spraying them with perfume.

But an expert has revealed why you should never do this – as it can cause “irritation and infection” to your vagina.

Speaking to Fabulous, intimate health expert Dr Shirin Lakhani said: “Spraying perfume, deodorant, air freshener or anything else that gives it a sweet smell really shouldn’t be encouraged.

“You really don't need any special products to cleanse to vagina in any way, including soap, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

“The chemicals can cause irritation and infection to the delicate area.”

The former Saturdays singer, 32, revealed she perfumed her pants before entering Gwrych Castle as she chatted to a freshly washed Louise Minchin.

She said: "I think in the castle we feel like we've been here forever. I feel like the conversations we're having are usually the conversations you'd have with your friends you've known for 10 years or whatever."

She said this taking a hearty sniff of the pants she wore into the castle on Friday night.

She laughed: "They smell great though guys I sprayed them with lots of perfume… You can come and have a whiff whenever you want."

Those watching at home loved how down to earth the star was.

One wrote on Twitter: "Frankie made me howl as well, offering her knickers up for a sniff test."

Another posted: "Did Frankie just sniff her knickers on national TV idk what to say at this point."

A third said: "Omg hilarious, Frankie so down to earth… I’ve still got yesterday's knickers on!"

Later in the episode Frankie revealed she has a crush on fellow I'm A Celebrity star David Ginola.

The football legend is proving a big hit and has caught the eye of the former pop star and WAG, who is married to former English footballer Wayne Bridge.

Current odds put the ex-Newcastle and Spurs man, 54, as hot favourite to win this series, ahead of fellow campmates Danny and Frankie.
