We give our verdict on the new buckle strap fashion trend — as seen on Ariana Grande – The Sun

BUCKLE up, ladies – there’s a new trend in town.

Ariana Grande wore a sexy LBD with buckled fastenings when she returned to Manchester on Sunday.

The pocket-sized pop star’s outfit was a hit with the crowd at the Pride event, which marked her second visit to the city since the Manchester Arena bombing at her 2017 concert.

But it’s not just the 26-year-old singer who has strapped in for the summer. Kim Kardashian wore a striking belted top in the campaign for her KKW Beauty collection.

Jennifer Lopez and Love Island’s Belle Hassan have also belted up. Featuring strapping and cut-outs, the style is not for the faint-hearted — and the high street is not buckling under pressure to follow suit.

So are designers clasping at straws — or could this bold fashion choice be a little belter?

Clemmie Fieldsend asked 29-year-old London model Tahnee Ingham to give her verdict on six looks and rate them out of five.

Rating: 1/5

Tahnee says: “There is too much bare flesh. If the gaps were smaller, like the jeans, that would be better. But what’s the point? Just wear shorts instead.”

Her advice was to wear it in Ibiza — 'if you're brave enough'

Tahnee says: “It’s too loose on the arms. In a smaller size, everything would fall out. Wear it in Ibiza – if you’re brave enough.”
