Washing your hair with CHAMPAGNE is the most bonkers beauty craze on Instagram right now…but is just throwing money down the drain?

But from the same woman who brought us the peeled potato beauty hack, there now comes the most ridiculous waste of champagne we've ever seen…

Yes, Instagram star Madina Shrienzada has shared an outrageous video in which she rinses her hair with a bottle of champagne.

While we typically purchase whatever shampoo and conditioner is on offer in our local Superdrug, this online beauty guru claims champagne "tames frizz" and gives her hair "an extra little vamp of shine."

Considering the waste of perfectly good champers, we should hope it does.

Filming a step-by-step tutorial for her 290,000 Instagram followers, Madina starts by sectioning luscious locks into four different pony tails before soaking them in a bottle of champagne.

After pouring herself a glass (because why not?), Madina gradually pours the fizz over her ponytails before dunking the rest of her hair in a bowl of pricey alcohol.

We can only imagine how sticky that must be.

She then follows this by wringing the liquid out of her hair and leaving to dry.

Flash forward and Madina poses with her very pricey, and indeed, shiny-looking blow dry.

Unsurprisingly, the wasteful beauty hack has caused quite the stir among her followers.

One admitted that "it looks like it works but I can't waste champagne like that."

Another was quick to criticise and argued that champagne is "also really drying on hair" because "it basically strips the oils and leaves it really dry and shiny."

One unimpressed follower warned that this wasteful trick is "harmful to women who don't know any better" and "next thing you know you'll have a video telling girls to pour Coca-Cola in their hair…"

Summarising the hack in the video's caption, Madian gave the trick an "8/10" and described it "a fun little" activity for a girls' night.

But seeing how this is literally throwing money down the drain, we'll just stick to drinking any champagne that comes our way.

Meanwhile, this YouTuber made a bralette out of men's boxers… and it's even more disastrous than you'd expect.
