Viewers brand bride an 'ungrateful cow' for 'moaning' about 'f***ing horrendous' shoes and sixties theme on Don't Tell The Bride

Straight-talking Nathan planned a "sixties rave" themed wedding for his "princess" bride, with mod-style scooters, rock and roll dancing and bridesmaids dressed in Parkas, despite confessing that his traditional "girly girl" partner prefers The Spice Girls.

Groom Nathan, from Stoke Newington, was given £13,000 to plan the dream day without communicating with his fiance Beccie who "usually does everything" for the pair.

The music-lover has a no frills approach to romance, confessing that he doesn't understand why people make such a fuss of getting engaged.

He said: "The proposal, I don't know why people make massive deals out of them to be honest. I just proposed in the car."

While Beccie enjoys a more "Disney" approach to relationships.

She said: "My perfect wedding day is a massive country mansion in the middle of nowhere, a big staircase so I can make the royal entrance with a red carpet.

"I want the big princess dress and I want it to be classy. I'm a very girlie girl and I basically want to go to the ball."

Nathan had very different ideas though, planning to bring the sixties spirit to his big day.

Beccie said: "He's going to have a hard time if he does anything stupid."

And she was right to be concerned.

Speaking to his best man Levi about the day, Nathan revealed the full extent of his plans.

He said: "It's a northern soul themed wedding. So scooters, Parkas – which the bridesmaids will probably wear.

"Also when Beccie walks in you and me will be on the stage performing."

When questioned on what song the duo would be playing he suggested they write one, as they had a whole three weeks to play with.

Beccie meanwhile set her hopes on a big Cinderella style wedding at fancy stately home Sandon Hall set in 400 acres of sprawling land.

She said: "Nathan should know that I am a princess at heart. It's like when you're growing up though. This is what you imagine."

But instead Nathan spent £1,500 on a central musical hall for his mod-style event.

When it came to Beccie's perfect dress, she picked out a sparkly full-length gown – which looked nothing like Nathan's £699 short wedding dress which was "more practical for the dancing".

But it wasn't just Beccie who had a unique choice of outfit, Nathan also picked out pink dresses for the bridesmaids to be worn underneath brown Parka jackets.

He organised a local bar crawl and party bus to Congleton for Beccie and her mates before heading off to Hamburg for his own European stag.

He said: "I think Rebecca when she finds out she'll have a bit of a hissy fit at first and probably worry about what I'n up to out here."

While out there Nathan decided to ink the date and time of the wedding on to his leg and sent a video to Beccie by way of an invite.

The ever thoughtful groom did add in a splash of fairy tale for his bride-to-be with a princess goodie bag with Disney goodies and a pink vibrator as a joke.

When it came to the big reveal Beccie made her peace with the short dress although she insisted on changing the £90 shoes he had selected on her behalf.

But she wasn't impressed by the goodie bag containing the saucy vibrator.

She announced: "Does he realise how stupid it makes me look?"

Beccie also hit the roof when she saw the bridesmaid's unique outfits.

She said: "Oh f*** off. There's no way you're wearing them Parkas. I hate them. They need burning.

"It's all well and good him having a theme but they're ridiculous. Does he want to p*** me off before I've even married them."

Nathan performed his original song as Beccie walked in to the venue, although she wasn't impressed that she couldn't see him as she walked in.

Although she didn't greet her soon-to-be-hubby with a barrage of praise, instead starting by telling him the shoes he picked were "f***ing horrendous" and that the dress was "alright".

The fussy bride also confessed she "wasn't convinced" by the table arrangements and didn't like the other decorations or cake.

Fans of the show weren't impressed by her reaction.

One took to Twitter to say: "I would walk away from her. Ungrateful cow. How did he get landed with her!!!!"

And another agreed: "Why are they always so ungrateful, you’re getting a free wedding you cheapskate!"

And a third said: "Imagine spending your wedding day moaning and acting like a brat and then it being filmed on TV."

Despite her predominantly negative reaction, Beccie did muster some praise for her new husband.

She said: "I don't know a lot about northern soul but I do think he's done such a good job."

The new series of Don’t Tell The Bride is on Wednesdays at 9pm on E4.

We previously told how a bride-to-be was slammed as ungrateful after she moaned she was “disappointed” with her “small £1.3k” diamond engagement ring.
