Trisha, you can skate backwards!
I learned when I was 10 on a family holiday in Scotland, and then when I was 40 and living in Australia I took up Rollerblading.
So we might see you on Dancing On Ice soon?
I’ve been asked to do all those shows, but after my breast cancer [Trisha was diagnosed in 2008] I’d never risk it.
I’m on medication and my immune system is low, which means I couldn’t risk even an insect bite, so couldn’t go into the jungle.
How did your diagnosis change your outlook on life?
It sounds corny, but now I stop and smell the roses.
During chemo I went through the menopause in 48 hours, and Jennifer Saunders is right – it is like being thrown at the wall.
Do you worry that the cancer might come back?
Every year I go through all the tests and hold my breath and shake like a chihuahua, but most of the time I don’t think about it.
We can’t believe you’re 60 – what’s your secret?
Thank you! It’s just running, eating well and looking after myself. I also started having really subtle fillers when I was in chemo, and they’re great!
You’re living in the US now…
Yes, I live in Connecticut, and I’ve got a nice clique of English girlfriends – Emma Forbes has just moved out there.
We’ve been talking about doing a show called Brit Chicks In New York, because there are so many mad people there.
What do you think about Oprah for president?
I don’t think Oprah should run for president. Haven’t they learned from Trump about TV stars?
Just because you’re popular and make powerful speeches, doesn’t mean you know about politics.
She could probably have more power outside the system.
Are you a fan of the talk shows on TV today?
I think Loose Women could take a leaf out of Celebrity Big Brother’s book – having a mix of ages and experience.
And Jeremy Kyle is Jeremy Kyle.
With my background, having studied conflict resolution and advised on mental health, I’m going to have a different take.
I think talk shows reflect the lives of their hosts – read into that what you will.
Trisha ran for 11 years. Which guests have really stuck in your memory?
In the US there was a woman we gave a makeover to who asked me to marry her.
And we did a DNA test on a white supremacist, and I said: “Hey! You’ve got a little black in you!” and went to fist-bump him.
He recoiled, and it destroyed his white-power movement with humour.

You recently revealed that you had divorced your third husband Peter Gianfrancesco after 20 years. How are you now?
We still talk and care about each other. It came after a tough three years for both of us.
There’s no acrimony. He’s now living in his native Australia.
Are you dating again?
Yes, I’m dating and having fun!
BTW
Trisha had woken up at 4am to be on Good Morning Britain.
She arrived wearing a Stella McCartney “vegan fur” coat.
She drank a fresh mint tea (which she spilled on herself!).
